Policies

Donation policy.

Last updated 12 October 2026

In short

  • Gifts go to our work with children, adolescents and the aged, and to the programme you choose where possible.
  • You get an email receipt for every gift. Monthly gifts can be cancelled anytime.
  • If you made a mistake, ask for a refund within 30 days.

1. How we use your gift

Donations fund FESAC's charitable work: care and basic needs for orphaned children, education and mental-health and skills awareness for adolescents, and love and care for the aged, plus the essential costs that make this work possible.

If you choose a programme, we use your gift for it. If that programme is fully funded or can no longer proceed, we use the gift where it's needed most, in line with our mission.

2. Payments and security

  • Naira (NGN): processed by Paystack. Card, bank transfer or USSD.
  • Canadian dollars (CAD): processed by Stripe. Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  • Buy Me a Coffee: quick one-off gifts by card from any country, processed by Buy Me a Coffee under its own terms. Gifts made there follow this policy too, but receipts and refunds for them are handled through Buy Me a Coffee.
  • Payment details are entered on the provider's secure page and never reach FESAC's servers. We receive your name, email, amount and a payment reference.

3. Receipts and tax

Every successful gift triggers an email receipt showing the amount, date and reference.

Canada: only charities registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) can issue official donation receipts for income tax purposes. FESAC is incorporated in Nigeria. Unless and until FESAC is a CRA-registered charity, gifts made in Canada are not eligible for Canadian tax receipts. to confirm: CRA registration status

Nigeria: FESAC is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC 192992) and with SCUML (SC 191403139). For tax treatment of your gift, please consult a tax adviser.

4. Monthly gifts

Monthly gifts are charged on the same day each month until you cancel. Cancel anytime using the link in your receipt, or email info@fesaccharityfoundation.com. We'll stop the next charge if we hear from you at least 3 business days before it.

5. Refunds

Donations are gifts and are generally not refundable. If a gift was made in error, such as a wrong amount or a duplicate charge, contact us within 30 days at info@fesaccharityfoundation.com with your name, date, amount and reference. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. We may ask you to confirm your identity.

6. Gifts we accept

We welcome gifts that support our mission. We may decline or return a gift if:

  • it comes with conditions that conflict with our values or mission;
  • it could damage FESAC's reputation or independence;
  • we have reason to believe the funds come from unlawful activity (we follow SCUML anti-money-laundering rules);
  • accepting it would put the donor in hardship.

For large or non-cash gifts (in-kind goods, services, property), please contact us first.

7. Donor privacy and recognition

We never sell, rent or swap donor information. We name donors publicly only with permission, and you can give anonymously. See our privacy policy.

8. Transparency

Integrity is our first value. Our registration certificates are on our about page, and we will publish a yearly summary of how donations were used.

This policy is written in plain language to be clear and honest. It is not a substitute for legal advice and will be reviewed as FESAC grows.
